Beta

Rayscaper for Mac

Photorealistic renders, live inside SketchUp, now on your Mac. The render runs on the GPU of Apple silicon. This is a beta: help us find what doesn't work yet before the release.

Download for Mac

Apple silicon · macOS 14 Sonoma or later · SketchUp 2025 and 2026

What you need

  • A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer). Macs with an Intel processor aren't supported.
  • macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
  • SketchUp 2025 or 2026. The download contains SketchUp 2024 too, but we haven't tested it there yet.

Install it

  1. Download the beta with the button above. You get a file named Rayscaper_Mac_…_Beta.rbz.
  2. In SketchUp, choose Extensions > Extension Manager, click Install Extension and select the file in your Downloads folder.
  3. The Rayscaper toolbar appears. Click its first button, Start Render, to open the render window. Installing over an earlier beta? Restart SketchUp first, so it loads the new version.
  4. The first render takes a few minutes longer: Rayscaper prepares the GPU of your Mac and shows "Preparing the GPU" in the status bar meanwhile. This only happens once, later renders start right away.

Then the quick start takes you to your first render.

Good to know

  • Without a license, renders are limited to 1280 px and carry the Rayscaper watermark, as in the free version for Windows.
  • If Rayscaper or SketchUp crashes, Rayscaper sends a crash report with its log, so we can fix the cause. See the privacy policy.
